This morning I told Ruth to put on her sandals and we were in hurry so Ruth was talking away as she rushed to strap her sandal on and she was saying "...And i make you soooooo happy. I pee-pee on the potty all the time, and say mine prayers. Taking a nap..." on and on. It gave me quite a chuckle.

A little later today...

Ruth was being silly, so i told her her new name was 'Goofy Evans' and indignantly she said: "No, my name is Fluffy!" I was expecting her to say 'no', but she usually say her name is 'Amberlyn Evans' I'm not sure where she got Fluffy!

Neil touched the outside of the pre-heated oven and in a whisper said " 'ot" over and over. Some of the words he knows now are: 'do' (dog) 'Dak' (Jack) and ' 'ot'. His fav. things to do are to drag things behind him and throw things in the toilet and/or garbage.

After church today we went to Grandma Holly's and Ruth got into the fridge and was excited to find a sports drink. She got it out and brought it to Marcus to open. Marcus asked for a sip and she ran back to the fridge and said "I get you yours own by yourself." Marcus tried to tell her he didn't want his own but just a sip and Ruth told him: "Yeah, it will make your back feel better." (Marcus had said his back was hurting earlier)

Neil put the 'T' on the end of Hat today instead of Just saying 'ha'.

I was feeding Neil Chicken and Star soup (the lunch time favorite of both Ruth and Neil) and Neil Thought it would be real funny to blow a huge raspberry. I had stars all over my face and shirt. Neil was full on laughing at me. Usually he just smiles and hums but he was belly laughing like when daddy tickles him. He did it with the next mouthful as well. Lunch was over but every time I tried to be stern and tell him no I would look up and he would laugh again. Later that day when I was telling Marcus about it, I made the raspberry noise, and from across the room, Neil started laughing. He must be a boy.

Neil just figured out how to lower himself into his little orange folding chair. He keeps turning around and cautiously lowering himself down. He sits for a moment then stands up and starts over.

It was Neils Party today, and Ruth was helping me fill the gift bags. She was really excited and said "Its like Chick-o-reating!" It took to "What?"s before I figured out what she was talking about. We had Neils party at the pool by our townhouse, and Neil couldn't get enough of the pool. He kept trying to get back in, only he would lay down 6 or 7 feet from the edge and start inching himself backwards toward the edge of the pool! It was so funny to watch.

Neil had on the greatest outfit at church today. Its Green shorts with a dress shirt, suspenders and a Tie. he didn't have on any shoes, because he hates them and cries and scrunches up his toes (mostly just the left foot) when I try to put them on. Its not worth the battle. So he was barefoot and since the outfit was a little big on you, i was noticing as i followed him down the hall at church that if he just had a mop of unruly curls he would look just like a Hobbit! (Its the same outfit Liam wore to the Pioneer day activity sans a tie)

I made Enchilada dip today for lunch and Marcus came over and said "what's that? Goolash?" I hate that word it just sounds gross, but before i could tell him that Ruth told him "NO! Its chicken-lattas!"

Ruth: "Jesus wants me for a Suuuuuuuuuuuun BEAN!" & "Oh it looks like it gonna rain! We can wiggle in it and play...and jump in the piddles!" & "Can i have another pipsy roll?" (tootsy roll) She also likes to make up words "Pakee" and "Funya" are her favorites. Neil says "Boo!" "Aaaaaaaa-ple(sometimes it comes out "Baaaaaaaaaaple)"Ah-oh" , "boo..........boo"(for binki) "Ah-ba" (hello) In a blink of an eye he can be standing on the computer chair with the phone over his shoulder poking at the computer keys saying "ah-ba, ah-ba"

Halloween 2005

We went Trick-or-treating. Ruth went as Angelina ballerina and Neil went as a cowboy. I was trying to get Ruth to say 'thank-you' to everyone for the candy and one time i asked her as she was walking away "what do you say Ruth?" so my darling daughter said "Oh" turned around and said cheerfully "Smell my feet!" and went on her way to the next house.

Ruth was splashing water on me and i was starting to get irritated at her and asked what she was doing. She had such a serious look on her face until she looked up at me, then she sheepishly said she was throwing water on me so I would grow a baby.

We have been having going to bed issues lately. It takes on average 1 1/2 hours to get Ruth in the sleeping mode. So it was Marcus' turn to go tell Ruth to go to sleep and after a few seconds silence Ruth started crying. I assumed Marcus had been stern with her and didn't think to ask him what she was moaning about. I went up to take my contacts out about 10 minutes later and Ruth was still whining so i poked my head in and asked her what the problem was and she started babbling something about a turtle and Daddy wouldn't let her and back in bed... So i just said "Go to sleep Ruth" and left that didn't help so i just went downstairs (she was asleep 5 minutes later after an hour and 45 minutes of playing) I asked Marcus what she was talking about, something about a turtle. He started laughing and said when he got up there, Ruth was laying on the ground under the laundry basket and she started crying when he put her in bed. He said she started moaning for Mom because Mom would let her be a turtle. Gotta love the kids imagination.

Neil said Aubrey. That was the first name he's said. he also says: 'Ees' (yes) 'Uh-Uh' (he says is like he is saying no, but it means yes) 'Ooow' (out) he says that to Wendy when he sees her in a big gruff voice. Sometimes when he is bored he will say "UUHH-Uhhhhhh" On the first 'UUHH' he makes his body do a little jump/twitch thing and he says it real loud. on the second 'Uhhh' he relaxes and says it softly. he things its so funny.

We were leaving and I asked Ruth to turn the T.V. off. Right after i said it, Neil jumped up and ran to the T.V. pushing buttons trying to find the right one. (he is only a little over 14 months old). Ruth sees this and I can see her switch into the defensive while she is rushing over like she wants to shove him out of the way to do it herself. She almost did just that, but at the last minute she stopped and grabbed his little hand and guide it to the correct button and together they shut the T.V. off. I could feel my heart swell. What an incredible daughter i have.

Grandma Holly took the legs off her trampoline so its only like a foot off the ground. Neil loves it and will spend large chunks of time outside practicing his jumping.

We were leaving Grandma Evans' house and Ruth was being a poop and wouldn't kiss anyone goodbye so i said okay fine lets go and Ruth Flipped out. I asked her what the problem was and she blubberingly said she wanted to say goodbye to everyone so i took her back inside and Uncle Travis was standing there and he said "are you going to say goodbye to me now?" Ruth ignored him and Said goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa before she gave Uncle Travis a kiss and i jokingly asked her if she wanted to kiss Travs friend Chase as well and to our surprise she said yes and Chase good natured puckered up and gave her his cheek to kiss. Ruth totally evaded his cheek and kissed him full on the mouth. Poor chase, we were all laughing too hard, I know he was embarrassed though. Ruth's first kiss.

Neil Says Aubrey but he still wont say mom or dad, he also thinks were joking if whe tell him to say please. Also, he is so feisty! He hits EVERYTHING. Sometimes he will his you and hug you all in one motion. Sometimes he will hit you and grab a handful of your face all in one motion. If he cant reach you, he will hit objects near him. I hope he grows out of it. I dont want him to be a pugilist when he grows up...or an inmate. Its so frustrating, because he is such a sweet baby. you just better not cross him...or put him down. He wants to be held and he wants you standing. I think he likes being big.

Today its "Feliz Flobby-dod"

I was on the last chapter of a silly book I was reading and Ruth wouldnt leave me alone so i told her "I just wanted to finish this stinkin' book!" as i put it down. Later that morning when I picked the book back up, Ruth decided she wanted to go shopping. She graciously told me I could "bring that stinky book " with me.

Neil has been talking up a storm lately. I tied all his binkies to various stuffed animals to make sucking on them annoying. It seems to be working and he talks a lot more now. He even says "Mamee" now! He says 'up stairs'...well "Up-ego" I dont know where it came from, but he says it every time. Thank-you is usually "Gop" when he is in a hurry. When he thinks about it its "De-Gop" He is really good at saying 'what' or "Baaaaat". He even knows when to say it with an attitude.

The other day we were driving in the car and we were behind a van and Ruth said "where did that guys trunk go? It must have fallen right off!" She has started calling me 'Mother'

We were over at Grandma Evans' house celebrating Uncle Reddins birthday and We had already eaten and were in the living room talking when Uncle Trav got home. He went into the kitchen to eat, but a few minutes later he came into the Living room laughing, holding Neil. He said he was eaing and Neil walked up to him and grunted. Trav said he asked him what he wanted and Neil Grunted again so he told him to go away. The next thing he knows Neil is kicking his leg, and when Trav looked down in stunned amusement, Neil laughed at him.
